Review:

Subscription to SNGIcons gives you entry to the training centre. As of 18th October 2007 there are 121 videos available, mostly covering SNGs of course, but also including a number of MTTs and the occasional cash game.

The SNG videos cover a range of buy-ins, from $6 (4-tabling) right through to $1000 (not multi-tabling ).

All the vids are streamed through the browser (.flv format). There is currently a post pending reply in the forum, from a guy saying he knows how to download them and optimise them for video ipod (woohoo!) but he’s not yet been given permission to post the how-to.

The other main perk of subscription is access to the members forum, with: General Sit & Go Discussion, Video Discussion, Ask a Pro (hand analysis), and other topics. Having only joined a few days ago, I have a lot of studying to do as I burrow through the forum, but I was impressed to see the instructors responding to Qs on the hand analysis topic in an informative non-judgemental manner. There is much talk of SNG and bubble theory, with EV and ICM covered in depth.

Pros:

Quality instruction on the vids - very informative.
Very useful forum posts.

Cons:

Streaming vs Downloadable videos is a downside.
Would like to see more cash game videos, but then this is ‘SNGIcons’.
No articles or additional material besides the videos.
