In case you haven’t already seen the latest UK tabloid news revelations, Andy Gray, leading Sky Sport’s Football Commentator, has been sacked over making derogatory comments about a female football referee off the air. Andy Gray’s immediate dismissal, after stating that “women cannot understand the offside rule”, will have a massive impact for Sky’s coverage of future Premier League games.

In my opinion Andy Gray was inarguably the UK’s best football pundit, commentator and analyst. His Sunday TV show “The Last Word” is renowned for being the most insightful, analytical and entertaining post-match football program which breaks down Premier League games and football transfer information on TV.

In addition to the Last Word, which Gray hosts in the good company of Richard Keyes, Gray has evidently been Sky Sports favourite and most popular football commentator. Him and Keyes have been consistently selected, season after season, to commentate the so-called big “Super Sunday” Premier League games including Man Utd vs Liverpool and Arsenal vs Chelsea.

Andy Gray’s sacking will prove a huge hole to fill in the Sky Sports studio. Possibly to the extent that executives at Sky Sports may soon regret the decision. Gray was a professional Scottish football who made his mark at a number of clubs including Dundee (where he started), Aston Villa, Wolves, Everton and Rangers.
Since retiring in 1990, Gray joined Sky Sports football commentary team in 1992 (before the Premier League began) and has been working for them for the last 20 years. Some UK bookmakers and online casino sites such as William Hill (which provides a range of online gaming services including sports betting, instant win games and poker) are already providing betting odds on what Andy Gray will do next. Betting odds range from 5/2 to show up on Loose Women or I’m a Celebrity and 10/1 to take part in Strictly Come Dancing.

Tennis betting fans won’t be amazed to hear that Rafael Nadal won the tennis Grand Slam on Monday in New York, winning the 2010 U. S Open men’s singles final.

With this historic win over Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, became the first person since 1969 to win the French Open, Wimbledon and U. S Open in the exact same yr.

Rafael Nadal is commonly believed to be the world’s greatest clay-court player ever – having earned an unrivalled 81-match clay court winning streak which was concluded in 2006, nevertheless his control by winning the French open (considered to be the most important clay-court tournament) for an amazing four years in a row (2005 – 2008) says it all. Rafa is one of the most popular players for tennis betting fans.

Neither the New York rain, which had seen the final postponed on Sunday and then disrupted for just about two hours on Monday, nor Djokovic could stop the Spaniard’s unyielding walk to the 1 title that still eluded him.

In the year 2006, Nadal showed the entire world that he is a dynamic player, when he played out his way to the final of the grass-court Wimbledon Tennis Tournament, where he dropped to Roger Federer – on the other hand in 2008 he conquered Federer for his first major win on a non-clay surface. Not one to rest on his laurels, 2009 saw Nadal win the Australian Open and reach the semi’s of the 2009 US Open. 2011 will probably be another year for Raphal Nadal’s tennis results.

Security breaches in online gaming are nothing new, however Australian site Herald.com reports that online sportsbook/casino/betting company Ladbrokes has recently experienced a serious security breach where players personal data (address, phone numbers, birth-dates, email) was stolen. The stolen data also contained gambling histories for each individual in the database. An investigation by the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office has been prompted by a claim by a mystery Australian who has claimed that he managed to access Ladbrokes’ customer database. The man approached newspaper the Mail offering to sell them the confidential details of the 4.5 million customers stored in Ladbrokes’ database.Ladbrokes was made aware of this serious data breach by The Mail, and an investigation on the case is under way by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO),the the British data watchdog.

Ciaran O’Brien of Ladbrokes has stated that Ladbrokes is working hard to find the culprit. “This is a criminal act and we are working with the police, the ICO and the newspaper to identify and apprehend the culprit”. Ladbrokes have begun the task of making their affected customers aware of that their information was compromised, and reassuring them that they are sparing no effort in trying to protect their personal information.

The advertisment with the byline “Online experience is measured in games, not years. Join the new breed. Annette_15” came to the attention of the ASA after it was distributed via email. The ASA claimed that the advert would encourage youngsters to play poker, and is highly irresponsible.

Betfair denied that the marketing campaign was aimed at underage plaeyrs in the UK, and have stated that they will not be using Obrestad in their UK marketing campaigns. The ASA also took this opportunity to reenforce the rule that no one under the age of 25 should appear in any form of online or offline gambling related marketing campaigns in the United Kingdom.
