Boss Media Network To Stay Up after 18th Sept Deadline

Recently Poker Trillion announced their intention to sue Boss Media for $20M, following PokerTrillion’s removal from the IPN / Boss Media Network.

The initial hearing and press releases that were launched on the 19th August 2008 stated that the Maltese Judge has permitted this to go to court, and that the existing Maltese Boss servers can be seized and suspended from business on the 18th September 2008.

As this date is fast approaching, King Solomon’s Poker (one of the skins on the Boss Poker Network) asked BOSS/IPN for some updates and re-assurances regarding the continuity of business, the updates are below:

Should the servers be shut down in Malta:

1. Boss Media established a disaster recovery site at Stockholm which is a mirrored set-up of the Malta servers, and can be switched on within a couple of hours notice, should the Malta servers be turned off.

2. Boss Media have sought legal advice regarding this and the Maltese license, and have been advised that they will be able to use their disaster recovery site with the Maltese license.

3. In addition to this Boss Media have started proceedings with other gaming jurisdictions including Alderney so that a worst case situation is the servers will be removed from Malta to this other jurisdiction (final destination tbc), while business continues as normal on the disaster recovery site.

GTech, who recently purchased Boss Media, have confirmed that they are committed to continuing the network and have made plans to expand all areas of Boss Media in order to bring them up to the standard of the other networks, as well as setting aside funds that will ensure the survival of the network regardless of the outcome of the court case.
